Team Event 2010

CHEC are pleased to announce that due to riders’ requests we are going to put on a 6 hour event for the forthcoming Lane End Venue. This event will be open to individuals and teams.

In order to accommodate team entries our system designer, Ian, has had to re-configure our booking system, this will be live very shortly (I will send a notification email to confirm this together with messages on website and on forum).

As this is a longer event than we normally stage there is a revised set of entry fees which reflect our increased costings on the event:

IRONMAN £60. TEAM LEADER £60. EACH TEAM MEMBER £25

Just to clarify the above every rider has to join the event (there is an idiots guide compiled by an idiot- me, to hopefully allow you to enter the team category easily).

On the day when riders sign on we will first check they are registered with the AMCA (bring your valid registration card), you will then receive your transponder 1 for each Ironman and 1 for each team and also a hi viz wristlet for each rider, this is then attached by a marshal using a special locking tool (this is a requirement to ensure any rider on course has paid and signed on and is then consequently insured for public liability), this wristlet has to be shown to the start marshal prior to entering the course.

The event will run for 6 hours non stop so all riders must ensure they pace themselves adequately and keep themselves hydrated and fed. There will definitely be a burger van (Pete Mason, same as Penwood).
We are also planning a social event for all riders on the Saturday evening with camping (a donation for Great Ormond Street is all we ask for the pitch- please advise us if you do intend to camp as space is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis).

The Social event will comprise of a Pig roast, with all trimmings all we ask is you bring the beverage of your choice and come prepared for a good natter with your fellow competitors.
We are holding this social as a ‘thank you’ to all the riders who have supported our club over the last few seasons and have stayed with us despite all the unrest from last season.
We will also be awarding some prizes for event and group winners and also riders who have booked 3 or more events with us this season at the social so, if you fall into this category then make sure you come.

Tyre Rule: Following our post race meeting last night, the directors decided that we would be removing the tyre rule with immediate effect. Just to clarify there will be no points penalty or payment for riders using non trials tyre on rear for the next event at Sevenoaks. This change is due to the club listening to riders and also to align ourselves with other local clubs who have also removed this ruling.

Good news everyone!

CHEC is back in action with a new 'on-line' registration and payment system. Some steps need tidying up but it's all working (download guide to registration).
